Vintage Roberts Radio with Pure One Digital Radio
This lot comprises two radios: a vintage red Roberts radio and a Pure One digital radio finished in cream. The pairing offers a clear contrast between an older analogue-era set and a modern digital receiver, both from established British and international audio brands.
The Roberts radio has a red painted case with a rounded-corner cabinet and a gold-toned perforated front grille. A chrome-effect script “Roberts” badge is fitted to the front. The Pure One is a cream digital radio with a perforated speaker grille, a small backlit display and a chrome-finished central tuning knob. Its control panel carries labelled buttons for volume, stations, timer, presets, menu, info, DAB/FM and standby, with “DAB” and “digital radio” markings on the fascia.
Condition and Collectable Appeal
The red Roberts radio shows considerable wear, with areas of paint loss and chipping across the cabinet, revealing darker underlayers in places. The Pure One shows some surface marks and light wear consistent with use. Neither radio has been described as complete or in working order, and no testing has been carried out for this description. The Roberts radio’s distressed finish may appeal to collectors of vintage and retro radios, while the Pure One will interest buyers looking for a digital radio or a companion piece for display.
