Vintage Royal Copenhagen Blue and White Porcelain Vase
This vintage porcelain vase is by Royal Copenhagen of Denmark, offered in a blue and white finish. It has a rounded body, a flared neck and a short footed base, and is decorated with a hand painted steamship set within an oval medallion. The medallion is framed by a scrolled cartouche in blue. The reverse bears the lettering “Dana’s Jordomsejling 1928-1930”, Danish for a circumnavigation of the globe, which points to the voyage that the vase commemorates. The base is marked Royal Copenhagen Denmark, with the number 194 painted in blue.
Condition and Collector Appeal
This vase appears to be in good overall condition, with the glaze and blue decoration looking clear and bright. There is some light wear and speckling to the unglazed ring of the base. The vase is a commemorative piece with a clear maritime theme and a documented date range, which may appeal to collectors of Royal Copenhagen porcelain, Danish ceramics and ship-related commemoratives.
