Vintage Serpent Entwined in Vines Pendant Necklace

This vintage pendant necklace features a serpent entwined among vines, leaves and flower motifs, dating from the 1920s to the 1950s. The serpent’s body winds across the central section of the piece, with a small red stone set as its eye. Clear faceted stones are set among the foliage, and a pear-shaped clear stone hangs from the base of the design. The pendant is suspended from a fine linked chain with a clasp, and the metal has an antiqued, darkened finish. The combination of naturalistic botanical detail and the sinuous serpent gives the piece a distinctive character typical of jewellery from this period.

Condition and Collectability

The necklace is offered in the condition described. No significant damage is apparent, though wear consistent with its age can be expected, including to the finish and the setting of the stones. Prospective bidders are encouraged to request further views or a condition report before bidding. Pieces of this type, combining serpent imagery with foliate design and coloured accent stones, are of interest to collectors of vintage and antique costume jewellery, particularly those drawn to Art Deco and mid-century styles.
