Vintage Silverplate Cutlery Lot
This lot offers a large quantity of vintage silverplate cutlery laid out across a blue cloth for viewing. The photograph shows teaspoons, larger table spoons, round-bowled serving spoons, dinner forks, cake or dessert forks and a number of knives with yellow handles. The pieces share a plain, elongated pattern with tapering handles, giving the group a consistent and practical character suited to everyday use or a traditional table setting. The maker and pattern name are not visible in the photograph, so these should be confirmed by the buyer on inspection.
Condition and Collector Interest
The silverplate shows general signs of age, with tarnishing and some darkening visible on several spoons and forks. A number of knife blades display marks and discolouration along their upper sections, and the yellow handles appear to show light surface wear. Individual damage, pitting or wear to the plating beneath the surface cannot be judged from the photograph. Lots of this kind often appeal to collectors building a dining service, to buyers furnishing a period table and to those who enjoy cleaning and restoring older silverware. Prospective buyers are encouraged to view the lot in person before bidding.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
