Vintage Silver Toned Open Mouth Chick Toothpick Holder
This vintage novelty piece is shaped as a chick with its beak open wide, finished in a silver toned metal. The body is covered in overlapping feather-style detailing, and a raised flower with a rounded central boss sits on the side of the head. The open beak forms a cavity suited to holding toothpicks, and the piece is described as a pin cushion. Its tail flares out at the back, and the small feet are positioned at the front of the body. No maker or marks are given for this piece.
Condition and Collector Appeal
The piece presents with an even silver toned finish, and no obvious damage is evident on its surface. It is described as vintage, but its age and originality have not been independently confirmed. Its combination of playful form and textured detail may appeal to collectors of novelty bird figures and vintage table accessories. Buyers looking for a decorative toothpick holder or pin cushion with character may also find it of interest.
