Two Vintage Silver Topped Walking Sticks
This lot comprises a pair of vintage walking sticks, each with a silver topped handle and a tapering wooden shaft. The first stick has a tapering cap with a chased, repeating leaf-style pattern running in bands around its circumference. The second has a plain tapering cap with a raised regimental badge, and the lettering “ROYAL SUSSEX” can be seen on the cap. Both sticks have a wooden shaft finished with a ferrule at the base.
Condition and Collectability
The first stick shows general wear to its shaft, including scuffs and some darkening along its length. The second stick also shows marks and wear to its shaft, and its cap shows surface marking consistent with age. Both sticks display their original handle fittings, and the regimental badge on the second is clearly defined. The pair will appeal to collectors of militaria, regimental memorabilia and vintage walking sticks, and to those seeking decorative antique accessories.
