Vintage Sony SHJ-700 Stereo Music System
This lot is a vintage Sony stereo music system, model SHJ-700, presented in a silver-tone metal fascia. It combines a front-loading cassette deck, a tuner section and an integrated turntable under a transparent hinged dust cover. The fascia carries the Sony name and “Stereo Music System” lettering, with a row of tuner band and function buttons, a tuning knob and a volume control on the right-hand side. Transport controls for the cassette deck sit beneath the cassette well on the left.
Condition and Collector Interest
The unit shows general age-related wear, including dust on the transparent cover and turntable area and some surface marking to the fascia. The cassette door and tuner display are visible in the photographs but the operation of any function has not been established, so this lot is offered as seen. Its original Sony styling and integrated format make it of interest to collectors of late twentieth-century Japanese hi-fi and to those seeking a retro music system for restoration or display.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. #### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
