Vintage Three Drawer Chest of Drawers
This vintage three drawer chest of drawers is a practical piece of storage furniture with a traditional form. It stands on a plinth base and has a broad, flat top.
The chest is constructed with three stacked drawers of matching width, each with a recessed front framed by a fine light-coloured inlay running along the edges. Each drawer is fitted with brass oval drop handles and has a keyhole to the centre of the front. The timber has a pronounced grain and appears to be oak, finished in a warm, medium brown tone. The maker is not known from the piece itself.
Condition and Character
This chest shows the wear expected of a piece of its age. The top has visible scratches and marks across its surface, and there is some surface wear and light marking to the drawer fronts, most noticeably to the middle drawer. The original brass handles and escutcheons are present, and the inlaid detailing to the drawer fronts remains in place. Its unrestored state and original hardware give it an honest character that will appeal to collectors of early twentieth century furniture and to buyers looking for a characterful piece with good storage capacity for a period interior.
