Two Vintage Walking Sticks and a Gaelic Sports Hurley
This lot comprises two vintage walking sticks and a Gaelic sports hurley. The first walking stick is a knotted, dark-toned wooden cane with a rubber ferrule to the tip and a naturally formed crook handle. The second is a longer wooden stick in a lighter, reddish-brown tone, also finished with a dark ferrule and a curved handle. The hurley is a traditional Gaelic sports stick with a pale, flat-bladed head and a tapering shaft, and a faded circular stamp is visible on the blade.
Condition, Originality and Collector Interest
The walking sticks show the marks of age and handling expected of vintage wooden canes, including natural knots, grain variation and surface wear. The hurley shows some darkening and wear to the blade, consistent with use. The faded stamp on the blade may be of interest to collectors of sporting memorabilia, while the walking sticks will appeal to those who collect vintage canes and country walking accessories. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
