Two Vintage Wooden Boxes
This lot comprises two vintage wooden boxes offering practical storage for keepsakes, jewellery or small personal items. The first is a rectangular box with a hinged lid, finished in a dark, richly grained timber and fitted with pale inlaid escutcheons to the lid and front. The second is a rectangular box in a lighter oak-effect finish with softly rounded corners, a hinged lid and brass-coloured corner fittings. Both are of a style typical of the early to mid twentieth century and make a characterful pairing for display or everyday use.
Condition and Originality
The dark wooden box retains its original escutcheons, and its lining is visibly worn, with sections of the paper lining lifting and deteriorating within the lid and base. The lighter oak-effect box shows surface scuffs and marks to its lid, and its interior has a dark fabric base with timber partitions. Both boxes show their age through wear consistent with long use, and the lot is offered in the condition described. Buyers interested in restoration projects, original period storage or characterful vintage pieces for the home may find this pairing of interest.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
