Vintage W.T. Armstrong Flute in Case
This lot is a W.T. Armstrong flute offered in its original hard carrying case. The instrument is laid out in three sections, a headjoint, a body and a footjoint, with a separate cleaning rod stored alongside. The case has a black textured exterior with metal clasps and a red velvet-style interior lining with fitted recesses for each part. The flute has a silver-toned metal body with a row of keys and touchpieces along its length, several with dark pads, and it sits neatly in the case with its sections arranged as they were intended to be stored.
Condition and Presentation
The flute and its case show signs of age and general handling. The exterior of the case has visible wear and scuffing, and the red lining shows some marks and areas of wear. The metalwork on the instrument shows general wear consistent with its age. No assessment has been made of the flute’s playing condition, and no guarantee is given that it is in working order. Buyers may be interested in this lot as a vintage instrument with its period case, or as an example of a W.T. Armstrong flute for display or further restoration by a specialist.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
