Aircraft Recognition Manual
This is a wartime aircraft recognition manual, designated A.P. 1764. This booklet was designed to aid in the identification of enemy and friendly aircraft during World War II. The manual features detailed silhouettes and descriptions of various aircraft types, including the Hudson and Blenheim I (Mercury), with information on their purpose, dimensions, and speed. The book is designed to be portable, with a cord attached for securing it to a pilot or crew member.
Condition and Collectibility
This manual shows signs of age and use, consistent with its wartime origins. The cover exhibits wear and discoloration, and the pages are tanned. Despite this, the internal pages remain largely legible and intact. This piece would be of interest to collectors of military memorabilia, aviation enthusiasts, and those interested in the history of World War II.
