Three Wedgwood Trinket Boxes
This lot comprises three small Wedgwood trinket boxes, each with a circular lid and a matching base. The three pieces vary in ground colour and decoration, offering a varied grouping for the collector of decorative ceramics.
The pale blue box has a white relief classical scene at the centre of its lid, framed by a laurel wreath border, with further relief figures to the sides. The lilac box follows a similar design, with a white relief classical group set within a laurel wreath. The cream-coloured box has a moulded border and a raised floral spray of yellow and green blooms on its lid, a more naturalistic style than its companions. The blue and lilac examples reflect the Jasperware tradition for which Wedgwood is best known, with white relief decoration applied to a contrasting coloured ground.
Condition and Collectability
The three boxes are offered as described and have not been fully examined for hidden defects, so prospective buyers are encouraged to view them in person or request further details before bidding. No restoration or repair is noted in the description. As a group, the boxes offer an attractive selection of Wedgwood decorative pieces, and their differing colourways and decoration make them appealing to collectors of trinket boxes, Jasperware and British ceramics, as well as those seeking a set for a dressing table or display cabinet.
