Wooden Sledge with Slatted Seat
This wooden sledge has a seat formed from a series of parallel timber slats, held in place by upright cross supports. The runners are shaped with a pronounced upward curve at the front and are fitted with red-painted end caps on the handle ends. A length of cord is attached to the front of the sledge for pulling. The timber has a pale, natural finish. No maker’s name or markings are visible.
Condition and Collector Interest
The sledge shows general signs of wear consistent with its age and use, including surface scuffing and weathering to the timber. The red end caps and slats appear intact, and the cord is present at the front. The age and origin of the sledge are not confirmed. It is offered as seen, and buyers should inspect it closely before bidding. Its traditional slatted construction and simple form may appeal to collectors of winter sporting items, or to buyers seeking rustic décor for indoor or garden use.
