French Lebel Bayonet

This is a French Lebel bayonet, likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Designed for use with the Lebel Model 1886 rifle, this bayonet features a long, slender blade with a Y-shaped groove. The grip is constructed from wood, and the bayonet is complete with its original scabbard. This bayonet represents a significant piece of French military history, reflecting the technology and weaponry of the era.

Condition and Collectibility

This bayonet exhibits signs of age and use, consistent with its likely military service. The blade shows some patina and minor wear, while the wooden grip displays expected wear and tear. Despite these signs of age, the bayonet remains a solid example of its type and would be of interest to collectors of military weaponry, French history enthusiasts, or those seeking a tangible piece of WWI history.
