German WWI Butcher Bayonet

This is a German butcher bayonet manufactured by Weyersberg, Kirschbaur & Cie. The bayonet features a large, single-edged blade designed for close combat and potentially utility purposes. The grip is constructed from wood, and the bayonet is marked with the manufacturer’s name and likely a date range of 1898-1905. This style of bayonet was commonly used during World War I by German troops.

Condition and Collectibility

The bayonet exhibits signs of age and use, with patina and wear consistent with its age. The blade shows some discoloration and minor imperfections. This bayonet would be of interest to collectors of military edged weapons, particularly those focused on World War I German equipment. It represents a tangible piece of history from a significant period.
