World War I American Horn Handled Jackknife
This is a vintage American jackknife featuring a horn handle, likely dating to the World War I era. The knife has two blades, one a standard clip point and the other a hook or sickle blade. The horn handle provides a good grip, and the knife’s compact size would have made it practical for soldiers in the field. This style of knife was commonly carried by American servicemen during the First World War.
Condition and Collectibility
The knife exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with its likely period of use. The blades show patina and some corrosion, and the horn handle has some cracks and wear. Despite its condition, this knife is a desirable piece for collectors of military memorabilia and vintage pocket knives. The combination of the horn handle and dual blades makes it a unique and interesting example of early 20th-century knife making.
