Early Infant Gas Mask
This is a fascinating example of an early World War One babies gas mask, designed to provide some level of protection to infants during gas attacks. The mask features a rubber facepiece with a clear mica window for visibility, and a canvas hood to cover the head. It is secured with straps and buckles, and includes a connecting tube for attachment to a larger gas filtration system. This particular example showcases the ingenuity and desperate measures taken during the conflict to safeguard even the most vulnerable.
Condition and Collectibility
This gas mask shows signs of age and wear consistent with its historical period. The rubber is brittle in places, and the canvas hood exhibits some fading and minor damage. Despite this, it remains a remarkably well-preserved example of early gas warfare technology. This piece would be of interest to collectors of military memorabilia, WWI artifacts, or those interested in the history of gas warfare and protective equipment.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. #### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
