WWII Ephemera Collection
This collection comprises a fascinating assortment of ephemera relating to service with HM Forces Overseas during World War II, with a particular focus on Italy. The lot includes official forms such as ‘Travelling and Subsistence Expense’ sheets, ‘H.M. Forces Overseas’ duty-free consignment notes, and correspondence relating to parcels sent to the front lines. Also present are printed items like ‘Some Stocking!’ and ‘Some Presents!’ featuring cartoon illustrations of soldiers receiving gifts, alongside a photograph depicting a military scene.
Condition and Collectibility
The ephemera shows signs of age and handling consistent with its wartime origin, with some creasing, edge wear, and minor staining. These imperfections contribute to the authenticity and historical character of the collection. This lot would be of interest to collectors of WWII memorabilia, military history enthusiasts, and those interested in social history, offering a tangible connection to the experiences of those serving overseas.
