Yew Wood Georgian Style Sideboard
This bow-fronted sideboard is made from yew wood and designed in a traditional Georgian style. It is built around four central drawers, which are flanked by two side cabinets with panelled doors. The drawer fronts and cabinet doors are edged with fine stringing and crossbanding, and the drawers are fitted with brass handles. The curved front and top follow the bow-fronted form, and the piece stands on bracket feet with a shaped apron below the drawers. The top drawer is fitted with a series of divisions and lined with green fabric.
Condition and Presentation
The sideboard shows general signs of age and use, including some marks and light wear to the top surface and edges. The veneer and inlay appear generally intact, and the brass handles are present to all four drawers. The interior of the top drawer retains its green lining and fitted divisions. The lot carries a tag affixed to the top. The piece is offered as seen, and buyers are encouraged to view it in person and check the condition for themselves before bidding. Its traditional bow-fronted design, drawer arrangement and yew wood finish may appeal to collectors and buyers seeking Georgian style furniture for a dining room, hallway or living room.
