Zulu Spear and Dagger Set

This lot comprises a traditional Zulu spear, known as an *assagai*, alongside two decorative daggers. The spear features a slender, leaf-shaped iron head affixed to a wooden shaft. The daggers exhibit curved blades and intricately carved wooden handles, suggesting ceremonial or prestige use. The handles are adorned with what appears to be brass or copper wire detailing, adding to their aesthetic appeal.

Condition and Collectibility

These items show signs of age and use, with patination to the metal and wear to the wood. The spearhead exhibits some corrosion, and the dagger blades show minor imperfections. Despite these signs of age, the set remains a fascinating example of Zulu weaponry and craftsmanship. This lot would appeal to collectors of ethnographic arms and armour, African art, or those interested in the history and culture of the Zulu people.
