Robert Taylor Aviation Print – Sigh of the Merlin
This is a limited edition print titled “Sigh of the Merlin” by acclaimed aviation artist Robert Taylor, and signed by Wing Commander Bob Doe. The artwork depicts Mark la Spitfires of No.610 Squadron RAF Biggin Hill, flying in the evening sunshine over London during the summer of 1940. The print is beautifully rendered, capturing the drama and atmosphere of the Battle of Britain, and is accompanied by the book “Air Combat Paintings Volume III” by Robert Taylor and Charles Walker.
Condition and Collectibility
This print is in good condition, with some minor wear commensurate with age. The accompanying book is also in good condition. This piece would be a desirable addition to any collection of aviation art, particularly for enthusiasts of WWII history and the Battle of Britain. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos.
