Vintage China Doll and Italian Wood Doll Lot
This lot comprises a vintage china doll, an Italian wood doll and a piece of green velvet fabric. The larger doll has a painted face with blue eyes, rosy cheeks and a red mouth, and is dressed in a pale pink dress with white lace trim beneath a cream knitted cardigan. The smaller doll, described as Italian and of wood, has painted features and brown plaited hair. It wears a red felt bodice with gold-coloured lacing, a blue and red check skirt and red felt shoes. The green velvet piece has a cream edging with stitched detail along one side.
Condition and Collectability
Both dolls show signs of age and handling. The larger doll’s dress has visible marks, and there is surface wear to its painted finish. The smaller doll’s skirt shows marks, and the velvet piece is frayed along one edge. The clothing appears to be original to the dolls, though this cannot be confirmed. The lot will appeal to collectors of vintage dolls, particularly those interested in European-style dolls and mixed doll lots offering a range of styles and materials.
