Three WW2 Medals with Miniature Set and Queen Mary Cufflinks
This lot offers three Second World War medals, comprising the 1939-45 Star, the Atlantic Star and the War Medal 1939-45, together with a miniature medal set and a pair of cufflinks described as Queen Mary cufflinks. The two bronze stars carry the GRVI royal cypher within a wreath, and the silver War Medal shows a lion standing over a prostrate dragon, with the dates 1939-1945 visible on the reverse. Three loose ribbons accompany the group. The miniature set comprises four stars and a further small silver medal. The cufflinks feature enamelled panels depicting a liner with red funnels, set into metal bars with chain links.
Condition and Collectable Interest
The medals show general wear consistent with age and handling, and the ribbons are faded and frayed in places. The mounting and fittings of the individual pieces are not fully detailed here, and the lot is offered as seen. The combination of full-size campaign medals, a miniature set and maritime-themed cufflinks may appeal to collectors of Second World War militaria, those researching naval or merchant service connections, and enthusiasts of Cunard liner memorabilia.
