Six Vintage Dinky Advertising Lorries
This lot comprises six vintage Dinky advertising lorries in a range of bright liveries. The group includes models promoting Weetabix, Lyons, Ever Ready, Sunblest and Heinz 57 Varieties, with a further example in cream and red. The lot is offered as a collection of six, as described in the hint.
The models share a forward-control cab style with a radiator grille, consistent with the Guy Van body that Dinky produced as a diecast toy. Each lorry has a box-section body with printed or painted advertising to its sides and rear, and the vehicles are finished in strong colours including yellow, blue, red and cream. The lot offers a varied display of mid-twentieth-century British commercial branding.
Condition and Collectability
The models show wear consistent with their age, including some chipping and handling marks to the paintwork and visible wear to the wheels. Several of the liveries remain clearly legible, and the advertising graphics have retained much of their original appearance. Buyers should inspect the lot closely before bidding.
Groups of vintage Dinky advertising vehicles appeal to collectors of post-war British diecast toys and to those interested in historic brand advertising. The variety of companies represented in one lot gives this collection interest for display, study and further collecting.
