Vintage Derwent and Silkolino Colour Pencil Collection
This lot comprises two sets of vintage colour pencils, including Derwent and Silkolino examples. The Derwent pencils are housed in several boxes, two of which are open-lidded and one with a red-topped outer box. The Derwent labelling describes the pencils as British made throughout, of superfine quality, and scientifically produced by The Cumberland Pencil Co. Ltd, Keswick, England. The Silkolino pencils are presented in boxes labelled as water colour pencils by Munter and Son of London, and one box retains a printed insert describing their use with Silkolino Medium. The pencils are displayed in a range of colours, offering a varied selection for the collector or the illustrator.
Condition and Collectability
The boxes show general signs of age, with some wear evident to the printed labels and card edges. The pencils are visible in their original boxes and appear to be original to the packaging. The printed Derwent and Silkolino branding, together with the inserts and period graphics, make this lot of interest to collectors of British stationery and vintage art materials. Items of this kind are often sought for display, for reference, or for their nostalgic appeal.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
